Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Website Shortcut Maker mobile application ("the App" or "the Service"), provided by Frameware ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The Service
The App lets you create home-screen shortcuts for websites. You enter a name, an optional description, and a website address (URL), and the App asks the Android operating system to pin a shortcut to your home screen. Tapping the shortcut opens a small launcher screen inside the App from which the website is opened in your default browser (or, if no browser is available, in an in-app web view). The App also shows the shortcuts it has created so far. The App retrieves a website icon (favicon) for each shortcut from a public icon service; if no icon is available, a default icon is used.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or lease any part of the App;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law;
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels;
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our services or those of our third-party providers;
- Use the App to violate any applicable law or regulation, or to infringe the rights of others.
4. Websites You Add — Important Notice
You agree not to create shortcuts to content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful, and not to use the App to distribute or promote such content. Website icons (favicons) are retrieved from a third-party service and remain the property of their respective owners; the App displays them only to help you identify your shortcuts.
5. Shortcuts and Device Behavior
Pinned shortcuts are created, stored, and removed by the Android operating system and your launcher, which shows its own confirmation before a shortcut is added. Whether shortcuts can be pinned, how they look, and how many can be created depend on your device manufacturer, launcher, and Android version. Some devices or launchers may not support pinned shortcuts at all. Shortcuts created by the App may be removed if you uninstall the App or clear its data, and existing shortcuts may stop working if the target website changes or goes offline.
6. Network Use
The App uses your Internet connection to retrieve website icons, open websites, and operate the bundled advertising, analytics, and crash-reporting services. You are responsible for any data charges incurred by your mobile carrier or Internet provider. The App does not require any runtime permission beyond network access.
7. Advertising
The App is free and supported by advertising delivered by Google AdMob, which may include banner, native, interstitial, and app-open ad formats. An interstitial ad may be shown before a website is opened or after a shortcut is created. Ad selection may use device identifiers and information about your device and the App. For users in regions where consent is required, a consent form is shown on first launch and can be revisited through the in-app privacy options.
8. Third-Party Services
The App integrates third-party services, including Google Play Services, Google AdMob, the Google User Messaging Platform (consent), Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google's public favicon service. Your use of those services is also governed by the applicable third-party terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not control their content, policies, or practices.
9. User Conduct
You agree not to use the App to:
- Engage in any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or harassing activity;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its related systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App;
- Distribute viruses, malware, or any other malicious code through or in connection with the App;
- Create shortcuts that impersonate other apps, services, or people, or that mislead other users of your device.
10. Intellectual Property
The App and all related content, including but not limited to source code, designs, graphics, icons, text, and trademarks, are the property of Frameware or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. "Android" is a trademark of Google LLC; the App is an independent third-party utility and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google. Website names, icons, and trademarks displayed in shortcuts belong to their respective owners. Except for the limited license granted in Section 3, no rights are granted to you.
11. Updates and Availability
We may release updates, bug fixes, or new versions of the App from time to time. Because the App depends on the pinned-shortcut behavior provided by your device and launcher, and on third-party services for website icons, the way shortcuts are created or displayed may change with new versions of Android or when those services change. We may also modify or discontinue the App or any feature, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, THAT SHORTCUTS CAN BE CREATED ON EVERY DEVICE OR LAUNCHER, THAT A WEBSITE ICON WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERY WEBSITE, OR THAT ANY WEBSITE OPENED THROUGH THE APP WILL BE AVAILABLE, ACCURATE, OR SAFE.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL FRAMEWARE, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY WEBSITE OPENED THROUGH IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED USD 10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Frameware and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, the websites you add or open through it, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms. You may terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Korea, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
